History of Kirby's SuperSports

Honda of Chanute was founded in Chanute, Kansas in 1963 by Don Stanislaus and Frankie Stanislaus.

Son Kirby Stanislaus, who has worked in the dealership since he was 6 year old, now carries on the family tradition. He has even expanded the company by adding Polaris, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Bad Boy and Longhorn brands to our model lineup. With this expansion came the name we are known by now, Kirby’s SuperSports.

Kirby has been riding motorcycles since he was the ripe age of 2 and started racing motocross at the age of 7, where his passion for powersports began. He has raced all over the United States while chasing the National Pro Racing Circuit. Kirby raced for the Cammex Factory Racing Team. In 2011, he came out of retirement and raced in the Mexico Baja 500 Desert Championship race, which is a grueling race that consists of almost 500 miles in one day. Kirby and his team finished 4th in the Pro Class.

To this day Kirby carries on that same passion for powersports. He still rides dirt bikes, takes his family out in Polaris RZRs, and occasionally takes a spin on a street bike.

“Our goal,” Kirby says, “is to introduce your family to the powersports family, and hopefully your family can find a lifetime of family powersports fun just like our family has!”
